MY BACKGROUND
Why I focus on the social sciences
Whether you’re writing a journal article, a research report or policy paper, your work deserves a delicate touch.
My own academic journey began with degrees in Sociology and Philosophy, and Social Development, followed by over a decade working in a university-based research centre. Immersing myself in this world gave me a deep appreciation of the complexities of social research and the theoretical frameworks that underpin it.
I don’t spend time trying to make sense of your field’s vocabulary – I already speak it. This means I can dive straight into your draft and focus entirely on making your writing flow as smoothly and persuasively as possible.
MY EXPERIENCE
Over a decade acting as your safety net
I established CRS Proofreading in 2013 after many years working as a Research Fellow.
Over the past ten years, I have worked with academics, researchers and students from all over the world. I am currently a Gender Copyeditor at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and a proofreader for a UK-based university research programme. I see my role as much more than a transactional service – I am here to be a calm, reliable and supportive safety net throughout the publication process.
To give you complete peace of mind, I am an Intermediate Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP). This is the gold standard for editorial professionals in the UK. It means my work is backed by rigorous personal development, years of vetted experience and strict adherence to industry codes of practice and academic integrity.
